Eau Claire (WQOW) - Flowers are a popular gift on
Valentine's Day, and this year there will be some very special deliveries in Eau Claire.
Off duty Eau Claire firefighters will be delivering flowers for Eau Claire Floral on Thursday.
The firefighters will be dressed in full gear when they deliver the Valentine's
Day arrangements. Firefighters plan on donating money that they earn to the Wisconsin Burn Camp, for kids recovering from burn
injuries.
"Some of these kids
who are burned obviously have some external scars on them. And that can be a
social stigma, where they have a hard time dealing with that on a day to day
basis. So getting together with peers and seeing other kids who are in the same
situation as they are gives them a sense of camaraderie and community. It gives
them a chance to forget about those and be able to go out and have fun,"
said Jeff Dykes, Eau Claire Firefighters President.
If you'd like a firefighter to hand
deliver your flowers simply request it when calling or stopping in at Eau Claire
Floral.
