Madison police investigate armed robbery

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police investigate an armed robbery late Tuesday night.

Police say a 29-year-old man had just parked his car in the 400 block of West Main Street and was walking into his building when the suspect came up behind him and followed him into the building. The suspect pointed a silver handgun at the man and told him to drop the bag he was carrying.

Police say the suspect took the bag, the man's wallet and cell phone. The suspect told the man to wait until he was gone before calling police. The victim was not hurt.

The suspect is a white man in his mid-to-late 20s, between 6' and 6'3" with a slender build. He was wearing a black cap and a face mask, blue jeans, a red jacket and white tennis shoes.

If you know anything about the armed robbery, call the Madison Police Department.
