UPDATE: Reckless homicide suspect sentenced for drug charge

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- A Madison man who is accused of reckless homicide in the overdose death of a Lodi teenager will spend five years in prison for an unrelated charge.

The office of U.S. Attorney John W. Vaudreuil says 22-year-old Milton Moore pleaded guilty to the charge in November of 2012.

Authorities say an undercover officer bought crack cocaine from Moore three times in July of 2012. At the time, Moore was on extended supervision in Dane County for robbery.

U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb ordered Moore's sentence to run consecutive to his three-year sentence for violating the terms of his extended supervision in the robbery case.

Moore is also charged with reckless homicide in the death of Jake Adler. The 17-year-old was found unresponsive on a porch in Lodi. An autopsy found he died of a heroin overdose. Moore is accused of providing the heroin that killed Adler. Another man, Lars Atkinson, is also charged in Adler's death.

Two other men are charged in connection with the distribution of crack cocaine. Damien Smith is scheduled to plead guilty on February 15. Kordarow Moore pleaded guilty on February 1 and is scheduled for sentencing before Judge Crabb on April 1.
