Eau Claire County snowmobile trails to open

Eau Claire County (WQOW) - Fresh powder could have some couples spending valentine's day on the trails.

Snowmobile trails opened on Thursday at noon here in Eau Claire County.  The Parks and Forest Department warns the trails haven't been groomed and may have ice under the snow.  Most trails in the area are open and are in fair to good condition. Trails remain closed in Trempealeau, Jackson and Clark counties.


Eau Claire County (Press Release) - The Eau Claire Countywide Snowmobile Trails will open Thursday, February 14, 2013, FFECTIVE AT 12:00 NOON. Trails in Eau Claire County have not been groomed and there may be ice under snow. Snowmobile trails in other counties around Eau Claire may not be open so check with them before you ride across county lines.

Eau Claire County urges all snowmobilers to abide by State and County regulations. Snowmobile travel is allowed only on designated trails and routes. Please respect landowners property because without the landowner's permission, the countywide trail system would not be possible.
