Eau Claire (WQOW) - Flowers,
chocolate, I'm sure a lot of people got some special deliveries today. We took
a look inside a local flower shop on one of their busiest days of the year.
It's the Super Bowl of flower days.
"6:30 this morning.
Stayed until midnight on Monday, and then Tuesday, last night, we were here til
almost 11 so it's been a crazy week," says Chippewa Valley Floral owner Shannon
Lindquist.
Add in the snow, and Valentine's Day
is keeping Chippewa Valley Floral extra busy this year.
"With school being
canceled this morning, we had a lot of rerouting to do with the schools, so
it's been pretty crazy."
Hundreds of flower orders were
prepped,
"It's called leaf
shine, so it shines up the leaves of the stems," Lindquist explains, spraying down
some of the stems.
Arranged,
"We've done a lot
of mixed rose colors this year for some reason, instead of just solid. People
are switching it up," Lindquist says.
And sent out the door to be
delivered.
"We were a smidge
behind and we had a ton of deliveries to do, so there's only so much one can
do, so we did the best we could," says Lindquist.
Chippewa Valley Floral says this is
one of the busiest Valentine's Days it's had in years.
"Maybe it's between
the chocolate truffles and the roses, we have some awesome packages. We've just
been swamped," Lindquist says, adding she's "not complaining!"
