Eau Claire (Press Release) - University of Wisconsin System President Kevin P. Reilly announced five finalists for the position of chancellor at UW-Eau Claire on Friday.
A 21-member search and screen committee, chaired by Dr. Rama Yelkur, UW-Eau Claire professor of marketing and coordinator of international business programs, recommended the slate of finalists to Reilly and a special committee of the UW System Board of Regents chaired by Regent Edmund Manydeeds of Eau Claire.
Finalists (in alphabetical order):
Dr. Pam Benoit Executive Vice President and Provost Ohio University
Dr. Kathryn Cruz-Uribe Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs California State University, Monterey Bay

The five candidates will participate in a series of public forums between Feb. 18 and March 6, offering opportunities for faculty, staff, students, and community members to interact directly with the finalists. The campus search and screen committee will announce a schedule for those public conversations.
The finalists for the position of chancellor at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will make campus visits during the next three weeks.
The visits will include an open forum, where each finalist will discuss the following topic: "Given the landscape of public higher education, how would you lead UW-Eau Claire to continue to be a distinctive premier undergraduate comprehensive?"
Members of the media are welcome to talk with the finalists immediately following each open forum.
The finalists' open forums are scheduled for the following dates. All will be held from 2:30-4 p.m. in Schofield Auditorium. (Each finalist's name is linked to his or her curriculum vitae.)
Dr. Rama Yelkur, chair of the Chancellor Search and Screen Committee, is available to make general comments about the search process and the quality of the pool of candidates. Yelkur can be reached at 715-836-4674 or email@example.com.
Reilly and the special Regent committee will interview the finalists on March 20. Along with Regent Manydeeds, committee members include Regent Jeff Bartell of Madison, Regent John Behling of Eau Claire, Regent Tracy Hribar of Franksville, and Regent Gary Roberts of Onalaska. They will recommend one candidate to the full Board of Regents, which must approve the appointment.
The person selected through this process will succeed former UW-Eau Claire Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich, who stepped down last spring to accept a new job as president of Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. UW-Madison's Gilles Bousquet has served as UW-Eau Claire's Interim Chancellor since July.
