Pierce County Sheriff's Department (press release) - On February 16, 2013 at 8:20am. Pierce County Sheriff's Dept received a report of a vehicle that was found burned at an address of N3530 840th St in Trenton Township. This property is 5 miles southwest of Ellsworth, WI. Initial officers arrived and located the vehicle in a farm yard where no one was residing. Investigation shows that a vehicle fire occurred, sometime overnight. When investigators checked the interior of the vehicle, human remains were found. The vehicle was not on fire when officers found the vehicle after it being reported.
The human remains were removed by investigators and Pierce County Medical Examiner, and were transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office for autopsy and identification.
This case is still under investigation.
