NEILSVILLE (WKOW) -- A former assistant track coach at Thorp High School is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.
43-year-old Scott Bergman of Thorp faces a felony charge of sexual assault of a student by school staff. He's now free on bail.
According to the criminal complaint, the relationship began last fall when Bergman was the girl's coach. School officials learned about the relationship and then contacted police.
Authorities say Bergman had nude pictures of the girl on his phone and the two exchanged intimate text messages.
Bergman was fired in November.
He is due in court on Thursday in Clark County.
