LA CROSSE (WKOW) - Friends and co-workers remember a young woman from Evansville who was found dead near La Crosse, where she was a student.
They held a vigil Monday night for Neala Frye, a 23-year-old UW-La Crosse student who graduated from Evansville High School in 2007. Her co-workers say this was a way to remember Neala's "light and shine."
Friends signed a message board for Neala and shared favorite memories with the entire group. "She's amazing. We'll never meet anyone like her. Ever. No, anyone would be her friend. I mean, one of the first days I met her I wanted to be her friend. Like she's so welcoming and the most outgoing person ever and..... phenomenal."
Frye's body was found late Sunday night after she had gone missing early that morning. Police still aren't sure how she died, but say the cold weather may have played a role.
