FAIRCHILD - A Fairchild man involved in a standoff with police is given a choice of a month in jail or a month of community service.
That was the sentence yesterday for Joshua Peterson. He will also be on probation for over a year.
In September, the SWAT team was called after witnesses said they heard a woman screaming and could see the silhouette of one person repeatedly hitting another.
Peterson and his girlfriend eventually came out of the home. He was arrested for domestic battery and possessing marijuana.
