NEW YORK (WKOW) -- Following accusations of sexual abuse in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan has been deposed.
The Milwaukee Archdiocese faces several lawsuits over how it handled clergy sex abuse cases. Dolan led it before he was appointed to the New York position in 2009.
The deposition started Wednesday afternoon in New York City, according to a New York Archdiocese spokesman. How long the deposition will last remains unclear.
Dolan has been mentioned as a long shot choice to succeed Pope Benedict XVI in some church circles.
