MADISON (WKOW) -- The lead investigator in the case against Olympian Oscar Pistorius faces attempted murder charges in an October 2011 shooting.

Three police officers fired shots while trying to stop a mini-van in the incident.

Detective Hilton Botha is scheduled to appear in court in May on seven counts of attempted murder.

Pistorius faces a charge of premeditated murder for the death of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. He was in court on Thursday morning for day three of his bail hearing.

Nike says it has suspended the contract with Olympian Oscar Pistorius.

In a brief statement the company says, "We believe Oscar Pistorius should be afforded due process and we will continue to monitor the situation closely."
