CHIPPEWA COUNTY - Prison time is ordered for a Chippewa County man connected to several crimes.

William Shilts, from Boyd, was accused of beating a Stanley business owner in the head with a large metal tool during an armed robbery. The 77-year old businessman suffered a broken jaw and head injuries.

Shilts was also convicted of manufacturing and delivering methamphetamine. The drugs were discovered during a 2011 raid and standoff at his home in rural Boyd.

Shilts was sentenced Wednesday to a total of ten years in prison.
