Bridge Creek (WQOW) - A mining company has been denied in Eau Claire County. The Bridge Creek Town Board voted 5-0 to reject the mining license for Five Star Telecom Properties on Thursday.

The company bought 160 acres just north of Augusta off Highway 27. The board had concerns about the impact the mine could have on nearby residents, their property value and potentially, their health.

WQOW News 18 was told that Five Star has already asked about the appeals process. The town board attorney will send a letter to the company to explain its decision. At that time, the company can request to have a hearing before the board to address those reasons.
