Eau Claire (WQOW) - A woman from Eau Claire is charged with fraudulently receiving tens of thousands of dollars in housing assistance.
The housing authority says Latreesa Washington received rental assistance for the past three years. Investigators say Washington claimed she and her three children were the only people living in the apartment. But investigators talked with her neighbors and learned her boyfriend also allegedly lived there.
Washington is now accused of receiving more than $22,000 in rental assistance overpayments. The charge is a felony.
