Blair (WQOW) - A western Wisconsin sand mining facility has reopened after being shut down for about a week.
Trempealeau County's Department of Land Management issued a cease work order to Preferred Sands in Blair on February 14th. Operations stopped as the company was ordered to remove a large stockpile of sand. The county said the sand was outside of the mining footprint. In other words, it was in an area that wasn't approved for a stockpile.
The county says the order was lifted on Wednesday, February 20th as Preferred Sands had moved the sand. Work has now resumed at the facility.
