Scharenbrock, Liegel, Soderstrom advance to WIAA wrestling finals


MADISON (WKOW) -- The WIAA boys high school wrestling semifinals were played out at the Kohl Center Friday night. In Division I, Sun Prairie's Jared Scharenbrock at 145 pounds advanced past Lightning Hernandez of Racine Horlick by earning the pin in 34 seconds.

In Division II River Valley's Seth Liegel will be appearing in his second straight finals round. This year he wrestles at 152 pounds, getting past Logan Kemmerer of Ellsworth 12-8 in the semifinal round.

In Division III Lancaster junior Ethan Soderstrom beat Dexter Karban in the semifinals at 160 pounds to advance to the finals. Soderstrom won state at 152 pounds in 2012.
