Eau Claire (WQOW) - A man who told police he robbed a pharmacy because doctors wouldn't give him medication for his severe pain is going to jail.
Justin Pnewski was arrested last July for robbing the Barron Pharmacy at knifepoint. The clerk said he told her he only wanted pain medications and did not want to hurt anyone.
Police say Pnewski told them he had an auto-immune disorder and degenerative hips that caused him pain. He had been to a doctor earlier that day in an unsuccessful attempt to get medication.
Pnewski, of Barron, was sentenced Friday to six months in jail.
