Eau Claire (WQOW) - The city of Eau Claire is putting out the help wanted sign for volunteers.
The city will host a series of meetings in the next few months, the first focusing on volunteer opportunities. City manager Russ Van Gompel says there are volunteer activities all over the city.
"We're always looking at expanding our resources, and some of that is drawing on resources and talents that we have within our community. Hopefully people have an interest in volunteering to help out whether its at the library, or some other social programs. Community Table, helping out at the Sojourner House," Van Gompel explained.
That meeting is next Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. in the LE Phillips Senior Center. The city does have a volunteer coordinator who can match you with an opportunity that best fits your availability. Her name is Roberta Kostka, and she can be reached at (715) 839-8285. If you are interested in volunteering, the city has a website with more information. Also, the city has set up an online survey you can take by clicking here.
