ST. CROIX COUNTY - A western Wisconsin county is more than $3 million richer, thanks to an auction.
Saint Croix County has owned more than 500 acres of land near New Richmond since the mid-1800's. On Saturday, the county sold it all at auction.
The land was broken into seven parcels, and brought a total of $3.5 million.
The county plans to use the money to expand its 911 center, and relocate the Health and Human Services Department to another building.
