MADISON (WKOW) -- Governor Scott Walker says he's open to other tax cuts besides the $343 million income tax reduction he's proposed in his state budget.

Thursday, Walker told reporters he would listen to lawmakers' proposals and is willing to negotiate with Assembly Republicans who have been studying a variety of tax changes. His income tax cut is a major part of his two-year-budget plan introduced last week.

In Walker's budget, the tax cut would mean an average decrease of $83 for all taxpayers. Those in the lowest three tax brackets would get a cut, but people who earn more than $90,000 would receive more than 50 percent of the benefit.
