MADISON (WKOW) -- Milwaukee County Distrcit Attorney John Chisholm announced Friday the John Doe investigation his office started six months before Scott Walker became Wisconsin's governor is complete, with no charges against Walker. Four of Walker's former aides in the Milwaukee County Executive's office and a campaign donor have been convicted on charges ranging from theft to misconduct in office.
Some Wisconsin Democrats have said evidence shows Walker was involved in illegal campaigning when he was Milwaukee County executive.
Assembly minority leader, Democrat Peter Barca, says the governor should take responsibility for people he trusted, hired and supervised. And state Democratic Party chairman Mike Tate says he hopes all documents related to the case are made public.
A judge has ordered that documents gathered in the investigation remain under wraps.
Walker said Friday he's glad the investigation is over.
