Barron County (Press Release) - On
2-28-13 at 6:12 p.m. the Barron County Sheriff's Department received a call of a man that went though the ice on Chetek near the Lakeshore Resort.
Deputies
from the Barron County Sheriff's Dept along with the Chetek Ambulance, Fire,
First Responders and Life Link Helicopter responded to the scene.
Upon
arrival the man refused to get out of the water and after a short time was
finally rescued from the water.
Steven Zwiefelhofer, 44, of Chetek appeared to have been water skipping
his snowmobile and went though the ice.
Steven was taken into custody on suspicion of operating a snowmobile
under the influence of alcohol and booked into the jail and later released to a
responsible party.
