Eau Claire County (WQOW) - Eau Claire County's first and only female judge is getting a promotion.
Judge Lisa Stark has been appointed to the Wisconsin Court of Appeals in Wausau. She has been a judge here for 13 years. Stark was instrumental in formation of Eau Claire County's drug and mental health courts, which focus on treatment instead of jail for some people charged with crimes.
Stark's departure leaves a vacancy on the bench in Eau Claire County. Gov. Scott Walker will appoint her successor. His office will take applications until March 14th.
