PSC rejects emergency request for St. Croix County wind farm
Madison (WQOW) - A wind farm proposal remains at a standstill following an emergency request.
Friday, the Public Service Commission rejected an appeal from Highland Wind Farm, LLC. A developer is looking to build 44 wind turbines in St. Croix County. The turbines would generate more than 100 megawatts of electricity. Earlier this month, the PSC denied the application because of concerns over noise pollution. Highland filed an emergency request for the PSC to reconsider its decision, which the commission rejected.
The PSC says it did so because the request was made too early and its original decision has not been finalized. That could happen at its meeting during the second week of March. Highland will have the chance to appeal once the decision is final.
