Sauk County authorities looking for missing boy

SAUK COUNTY (WKOW) -- The Sauk County Sheriff's Department says authorities are looking for a young boy believed to be traveling with his biological mother.

The child is 3 1/2-year-old Leonelly "Leo" Barron. Authorities say they believe Leo is with his biological mother, 20-year-old Maria Mendieta. Investigators say they believe the pair may be traveling to Mexico or Uruguay in violation of the court-ordered custody arrangement.

Officials say custody of the child was transferred to his mother on February 20 and should have been returned to his biological father on February 26.

Anyone with information on the location of the boy or his mother should call the Sauk County Sheriff's Department at (800) 377-1195.
