CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO (WKOW) -- A giant wave struck a pair of U.S. tourists strolling on the beach near the famous stone arch in the Pacific resort, killing a 65-year-old woman and leaving a 70-year-old man in serious condition.
Police there say the two were walking the beach, back to their hotel, when the wave came and dragged them out to sea Tuesday. Navy personnel rescued them and the woman was declared dead. The man was listed in serious condition Wednesday.
Officials say the woman had a Wisconsin driver's license and the man had one from Nebraska. It's unclear where they were currently living or whether next of kin have been notified.
