Eau Claire (WQOW) -- Eau Claire Memorial held a pep rally Wednesday afternoon to celebrate the school's hockey state championship.
Students had a chance to see the trophy, as well as watch the newly crowned champions participate in a dance routine. The team says it is a great way to tie a bow on their championship season.
"A lot of fans were able to come down and watch the whole thing progress. But you know to do it in front of your student body, and the kids that didn't have the opportunity to come down, and be able to see the kids and see the trophy, it's a great experience," says head coach Mike Schwengler.
"This is just a time for us to come together as a school and really just provides closure," says senior forward Brady Bollinger. "It's a time for us to celebrate not only the State Championship for the hockey team, but really for all the winter sports at this school"
