Ball improves 40-time to 4.46 at UW Pro Day

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- Former Badger running back Montee Ball made the most of his Wisconsin Pro Day, shaving two-tenths of a second off his 40 yard dash time, running a 4.46. Ball had a tough time at the NFL Combine, running a 4.66 40-yard dash in Indianapolis, but it turns out Ball was sick during that trip. Ball came into the Pro Day hoping to prove to the dozens of NFL scouts that he does have NFL speed, and Ball felt he did that, running a 4.46.

Former Wisconsin offensive linemen Rick Wagner and Travis Frederick were a part of the Pro Day as well. Frederick didn't lift weights, but he participated in foot work drills.

Former UW defensive backs Shelton Johnson, Devin Smith and Marcus Cromartie were the other three Badgers who were tested at the Pro Day. Linebacker Mike Taylor did not participate, as he is just eight weeks removed from surgery to his hernia. He will have another opportunity to test in front of scouts on March 27 in Madison.
