Rural Elmwood (WQOW) - Some western Wisconsin motorists encounter a smelly, slippery road and now a homeowner faces a potential fine.
A Pierce County deputy was driving on County Highway G last month when she smelled raw sewage. She says it covered the entire eastbound lane for almost a quarter mile. She also saw a motorist nearly slide off the road due to the slippery, partially frozen mess.
It turns out a rural Elmwood man was pumping his septic tank and ran a hose down his steep driveway. Officers say he apologized saying he thought the sewage would go into the ditch.
A county highway truck arrived to scrape the sewage off the road and heavily salted the rest so it wouldn't freeze.
Kyle McRoberts was ticketed for illegal pumping of a septic tank and for creating a nuisance and traffic hazard.
