MADISON (WKOW) -- Henry Vilas Zoo has a new addition.
They've added a third lion in the hopes of adding even more.
27 News got a first look Thursday at Shakura, the new lioness.
Shakura is just over two years old and comes from a zoo in Kansas.
"We all work together to preserve the species. This is part of pairing our older male, Henry, who's 17, with a younger female. Hopefully, we're gonna be producing offspring out of this pair," says zoo director Ronda Schwetz.
Zoo officials say Shakura will be given time to become familiar with her surroundings before she is introduced to Henry and his son, Leopold.
