UPDATE: Woman dies as a result of crash on Hwy. 29

Statement from the family of Jessica Oliver: Jessica Oliver of Elk Mound died Saturday, March 9, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire as the result of injuries sustained in a car accident on Thursday, March 7, on Highway 29.
 
The Oliver family shared their profound grief over the passing of Jessica, 22.
Her family found comfort in knowing Jessica had indicated her wishes to be an organ donor.
 
"She had a lot of respect for those who chose to be organ donors," said Rita and Joseph Oliver, Jessica's parents, of Colfax. "Even after death, she's still giving."
 
The Oliver family thanked Jessica's doctors and other caregivers in the Critical Care Unit at Mayo Clinic Health System as well as friends and family for their support during this difficult time.

Eau Claire (WQOW)- One of the people injured in a bad crash on Highway 29 is listed tonight in "critical condition."

22-year old Jessica Oliver from Elk Mound, is hospitalized in Eau Claire. She was a passenger in a car driven by Evan Jorstad. He's also from rural Elk Mound. He is in "fair" condition.

The crash happened yesterday in the town of Wheaton. The Chippewa County Sheriff's office says Jorstad was turning off of Highway 29 and crossed into the path of an oncoming SUV.

The people in that vehicle had minor injuries. Jorstad has been ticked for failing to yield.
