Eau Claire to take up resolution about shopping bags

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Efforts to go green has Eau Claire asking, paper or plastic?

On Tuesday, the city council will take up a resolution that targets the use of plastic and paper bags in the city.  The resolution outlines some concerns and issues related to these types of bags, including the amount of energy used to produce them and their environmental impact.  It would also create a special committee to look at ways to reduce, reuse or recycle plastic and paper bags.

If the resolution is approved, the committee would start meeting in April and would have to make recommendations to the city council by October.
