STEVENS POINT (WKOW) -- Saturday, the Department of Natural Resources(DNR) held its first of seven community input sessions on the upcoming deer hunting season.
Hunters and landowners joined DNR officials in Stevens Point for the Saturday session, which focused primarily on the deer management assistance program and ways to stop the spread of chronic wasting disease.
"We hope to have a broad spectrum of folks that are interested in deer, whether they're deer hunters, or are affected by deer in some way, shape or form. So, we want to have a broad cross-section of folks helping us with this," said Tom Hauge, with DNR Wildlife Management.
