MADISON (WKOW) -- The public was invited to tour the University of Wisconsin-Madison's newly refurbished Dairy Cattle Center Saturday morning.
The center underwent $3.5 million in work starting last May, including a new milking parlor.
"The old facility wasn't up to date. We were not able to train students with modern equipment and now we will," said Kate VandenBosch, Dean of the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences.
The center will be used for 15 classes in dairy science, along with other training and research projects.
Wisconsin has a $26 billion dairy industry.
The Dairy Cattle Center is home to 84 milking cows.
