PRESS RELEASE FROM TOWNSHIP FIRE DEPARTMENT :

Township Fire units were called to respond to a crash on Hillview Road and Butternut Road in the Town of Pleasant Valley. The call came in around 3:45 Sunday morning.

While responding it was further learned that a snowmobiler had crashed on the trail between Hillview Road and County I.  Pleasant Valley and Brunswick stations responded with their Special Rescue ATV's and assisted in locating the crash and patient.

Responders had to deal with moderate fog and icy conditions due to the warmer temperatures and light precipitation that had fallen earlier in the day making some surfaces very slippery. Firefighters had just returned to the station earlier after responding to a fire in a stove at W3940 Mitchell Road.  There was no damage.  Home owner was using the automatic cleaning feature on their oven when they noticed a flame inside.  Fire had self extinguished when crews arrived. That call came in at 03:04am
