School district deals with high number of absences
Cornell (WQOW) - The Cornell superintendent is reminding kids to wash their hands and cover those coughs.
About 12% of the school district's elementary students were absent on Tuesday. That's well above the typical 3%. Superintendent Dr. Paul Schley says there's been at least one confirmed case of the flu. Usually, the flu season peaks in January or February. However, the seasonal flu bug has been known to bite as late as May.
