Eau Claire (WQOW) - A meeting of the minds is held in Eau Claire to talk job
creation.
Wednesday night, the city held its
first economic development summit. Local business leaders, government members
and others discussed what can be done to create more jobs. They talked about
developing a more educated workforce, attracting entrepreneurs to the city and
having land ready and available for development.
"We do a three-year
economic development policy, and this is what the council will adopt for the
next three years to kind of follow as their economic development priorities, so
we wanted businesses and stakeholder input into that as they continue to
develop a draft that they will then take to the full city council for adoption,"
says Eau Claire Economic Development Director Mike Schatz.
That
process will most likely be completed over the next few weeks.
