Eau Claire (WQOW)- Wisconsin's Secretary of Revenue Rick Chandler was in the area Thursday to talk about the governor's budget and plans to cut taxes for Wisconsinites across the board.
Chandler says the state's budget is in a much better place than it was before Governor Walker took office, turning a $3.6 billion deficit into a $400 million surplus. He also says the governor wants to issue another tax cut.
"It's designed so that everybody will see some income tax reduction, but people in the middle-class, roughly from $35,000 to $100,000 of income will see the greatest reduction," Chandler explains.
The Department of Revenue says a family with a yearly income of around $80,000 will see about a $212 tax cut over a two-year period.
