Governor Walker cuts ribbon for Premium Waters expansion

Chippewa Falls (WQOW) - Governor Walker was in Chippewa Falls to mark the expansion of a local bottling company Thursday. Premium Waters is opening its third bottling line. The company says it's adding 35 jobs by May. So far, about 25 people have been hired on.

WQOW News 18 also asked the governor about his budget proposal, specifically about the expansion of the voucher program, which allows qualified students to attend private schools using taxpayer money. Members of his own party have reservations about the governor's proposal.

"You've got a couple saying they have concerns about it, but nobody said they're going to vote against it, they just said they have concerns about it, but I'm confident. You know, we've had other issues in the past where we've modified things and still got to the bottom line that we wanted, and that's a normal part of the process. There's never been a governor in Wisconsin's history that's introduced a budget that's been approved without an amendment, and we would anticipate this would be the same thing here too, but I think, having talked to Senator Ellis and Senator Olson, in particular, those two have raised some concerns, I'm confident we'll get something similar to what we've proposed," said Governor Scott Walker.
