EAU CLAIRE - Three people have applied to be Eau Claire County's next judge. Thursday night was the deadline to apply to the Governor to be appointed to the bench.
The applicants are Chad Verbeten, who is an Eau Claire County Assistant District Attorney, Tim Sullivan, who is the Assistant Corporation Counsel for Eau Claire County, and Kristina Bourget, an Eau Claire lawyer who specializes in corporate law.
They are seeking to replace Judge Lisa Stark, who is moving up to the State Court of Appeals. A committee will now interview the candidates and make recommendations to the governor, who has final say.
