FAA decision about future of local air traffic control tower on standby

Eau Claire (WQOW)- The future of a local air traffic control tower remains up in the air. The FAA says for now, a decision is on standby.

The tower at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport is among more than 180 that could be closed because of the automatic federal spending cuts.  An official decision was supposed to be announced Monday, but the FAA says it has pushed that back to Friday.

According to the Associated Press the FAA wants more time to review the impact the cutbacks would have.
