Jackson Co. (Press Release) - On March 18th, 2013 at approximately 2:30 PM the Jackson County Sheriff's Office was called to assist the Ho-Chunk Nation Police Department with a vehicle that had slid off the roadway in the Town of Komensky.
Upon arrival a Sheriff's Deputy met with a Police Officer of the Ho-Chunk Nation police department. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Herman F. Decorah, age 59, and was later taken into custody for 13th Offense Operating While Intoxicated. Decorah was also cited for other traffic offenses relating to the incident.
Decorah was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was traveling north on Mission Road when he lost control of his vehicle and slid into the ditch with the vehicle getting stuck. When the Ho-Chunk Nation Police Department first arrived, Decorah was found passed out behind the steering wheel with the vehicle still in drive.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is awaiting results of a legal blood draw from the State of Wisconsin Department of Hygiene.
