Kansas City, MO (WQOW) -- Wisconsin opens up the NCAA tournament on Friday against Ole Miss. On Thursday, the team held a practice on the court in Kansas City.
Wisconsin has won ten of eleven first-round games under coach Bo Ryan. For new players like freshman Sam Dekker, Thursday's shoot around was about soaking up the experience.
"You know, it's still so cool to me to be in this situation," says Dekker. "Watching all these guys grow up, I can't ask for much more right now. Hopefully we can make a lot of good memories here and get some wins and keep this thing going."
Head coach Bo Ryan knows his team will be tested Friday morning against the Rebels, who are fresh off a win over Florida in the SEC Championship game.
They got here because they're probably playing the best basketball in the country. They've beat some very good teams, they've earned their way in," says Ryan. "They're good players, good coaches, good team right now probably plays as well as, if not better, than anyone else in the country. You're in the NCAA tournament, so you're facing good teams."
The Badgers and Ole Miss square off Friday morning at 11:40 a.m.
