MADISON (WKOW) -- It's time to go "full speed ahead" into fitness this weekend.
The "Full Speed Ahead After 50" event will be held at the Monona Terrace on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event focuses on the new 50-plus age group with the idea that people can and are very active at this age.
The mind-and-body event is a combination of active offerings and educational opportunities. Attendees will be able to try pilates, yoga, cardio and stretching. There also will be classes on self-defense, tai chi basics and even belly dancing.
In the educational category, attendees will find seminars on digital photography and organic gardening. There will also be access to medical experts for advice and some health screenings.
Tamilee Webb, the founder of "Buns of steel" and "Abs of Steel", is the feature guest speaker at the event. She will share exercise tips for ages 50-plus and lead workouts.
Tickets are $7 at the door, but you can get a $2 off coupon by
