Sex offender changes addresses in Sawyer County


Sawyer County (Press Release) - In accordance with WI State Statute 301.46(2m), it has been determined that the attached information on Donald Butler, age 59 should be released to the local media. On 11/01/2011, Butler will be released to Community Supervision administered by the WI Department of Corrections. He is NOT wanted by the police at this time. This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public.

Sex Offenders have always lived in our communities; but is was not until the WI Sex Offender Registry and Community Notification Law was enacted that law enforcement was able to share this information with the community.

On 11/01/2011, Butler was released to Sawyer County and has resided at 12929W Haskins Road, Town of Hayward until March 22, 2013. Butler has now moved to 13762W Tall Pines Road, Town of Bass Lake.

Butler has been placed with a Global Positioning System (GPS) for life. Inclusion zones are very specific.  Butler will be required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program for life. The WI Sex Offender Registry can be located at
