Sentence given in Washburn Co. animal abuse case

WASHBURN COUNTY - Sentence is handed down for a man charged with beating and kicking his mother's dog to death in Washburn County.

Jacob Eid, from Spooner, was sentenced this week to the six months he has already spent in jail. Investigators say Eid said he was mad because he was having family issues. Eid was accused of hitting the ten-month old female lab with a stick, then kicking it several times.

The dog had broken ribs and died of internal bleeding. As part of his sentence Eid must get any necessary counseling and can't have any contact with pets for three years.
