DC memorial wall honored officer under similar circumstances as Sebena

WAUWATOSA (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin Professional Police Association says a police officer who died under a similar circumstance as Wauwatosa officer Jennifer Sebena was honored by a national law enforcement memorial.

The National Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund says they need more time to decide if Sebena's name can be added to it's Washington, DC memorial because she was killed in a domestic incident. The group's decision has caused an outcry in Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Professional Police Association is one of several organizations which has expressed that Sebena's name should be added. The police association says a Kentucky officer whose name is on the memorial died in 1997 under nearly identical circumstances.

Sebena was shot to death on Christmas Eve while on duty. Her husband has been charged in her death.
