Reports: Superintendent has spent $209k

MADISON (WKOW) -- New campaign finance reports show state schools Superintendent Tony Evers has spent nearly $210,000 on his re-election bid this year.

Evers faces state Rep. Don Pridemore, a Hartford Republican, in an April 2 election. The candidates have until midnight Monday to file with state Government Accountability Board listing contributions and spending from the beginning of the year through March 18.

Evers reported spending about $209,700 over the period. Most of the spending -- $186,700 -- took place during the days between Feb. 5 and March 18. He had $42,850 on hand.

Pridemore's campaign hadn't filed his reports as of late morning Monday. His latest report on file shows he spent about $19,000 between Jan. 1 and Feb. 4. He raised $2,400 and had $33,400 on hand.
