Brackett Avenue temporary road repairs continue

Eau Claire (WQOW) - The winter has been rough on some area roads. Monday, the City of Eau Claire kept the wheels turning on repairs to Brackett Avenue.

Crews shut down a portion of Brackett Avenue around 10 a.m. Monday morning to continue filling potholes on the road. The work is being done in the right-eastbound lane between Rudolph Road and Keith Street. The City of Eau Claire says this latest round of repair work is just a short-term solution until warmer weather arrives.

We get the loose blacktop, loose gravel, or concrete. Whatever is in that area, we get that plus any additional water sucked out and cleaned out. Then we can start putting in some pothole patch material. It's a very temporary fix, just to try and get by the next couple of weeks or a month of possible winter weather," said Steven Thompson, Eau Claire's Street Maintenance Manager.

The city expects work to continue until Thursday. After this round is complete, there are still repairs to be made further up Brackett Avenue between Keith Street and Fairfax Street.
